Our approach

Eastern diagnostics, Western mechanics

Most remedial clinics work one tradition. Our therapists trained in both Traditional Chinese Tuina (acupressure, meridian work, trigger points) and Western remedial anatomy (muscle fibre direction, fascial lines, joint mechanics).

In practice that means your session starts with a short conversation — where the pain is, what makes it worse, what you've tried. From there we combine techniques depending on what your body needs: firm acupressure where there's deep referral pain, slower fascial work where tissue is stuck, and mobilisation where a joint has lost range.

You'll usually notice a change in the session itself. Most clients with a specific complaint see real improvement over 2–3 visits.

FAQ

Common questions

How is remedial massage different from a relaxation massage?

Remedial massage starts with an assessment and targets specific pain, dysfunction or restricted movement using firmer, more focused techniques. A relaxation massage is softer, flowing, and designed purely for stress relief and circulation rather than fixing a problem.

Is remedial massage claimable on private health insurance?

Some private health funds cover remedial massage under "extras" cover. Our therapists can provide an invoice; you submit directly to your fund. We recommend checking with your specific provider before your appointment.

Do I need a referral?

No — remedial massage is a primary contact therapy. You can book directly online, by phone, or walk in.

How firm is the pressure?

Pressure is tailored to you and adjusted throughout the session. Remedial work is typically firmer than relaxation but should never be painful — discomfort is fine, sharp pain is not. Tell your therapist as you go.

How often should I come in?

For an acute issue, weekly for 2–3 sessions usually produces the biggest change, then fortnightly or monthly for maintenance. For general tension, fortnightly or monthly works well. Your therapist will suggest a plan after your first visit.

What should I wear?

Whatever is comfortable — we provide draping and you undress to your comfort level. Most clients keep underwear on.
