Remedial Massage for Essendon

Five minutes down Mt Alexander Road. Open seven days, with acupressure from $50 and remedial from $70.

Essendon and Moonee Ponds share more than a postcode boundary — they share Mt Alexander Road, the 59 tram, and a lot of the same locals moving between them every day. If you live near the Essendon Library, around Windy Hill, in the Essendon Fields corporate corridor, or anywhere along the Mt Alexander shopping strip, our clinic is about three kilometres south. Five minutes by car. One stop on the train.

eWellbeing is a Moonee Ponds massage clinic with a specific approach: we combine traditional Chinese acupressure with Western remedial massage techniques. That blend means we can work the meridian lines and trigger points that physiotherapy doesn't typically touch, while still doing the deep tissue work your body recognises. Essendon clients come to us for the full range — AFL fans recovering from weekend kick-arounds, medical precinct staff who spend all day on their feet, professionals carrying desk tension, and families looking for a regular reset.

You'll find us at Shop 2/8 Eddy Street, five minutes' walk from Moonee Ponds station and just off the Puckle Street precinct. We're open seven days, and after your session we provide a tax invoice so eligible remedial treatments can be claimed through your private health extras.

Why Essendon books with eWellbeing

Genuine remedial — not just relaxation

Our remedial therapists are trained to assess and treat, not just apply pressure. Chronic neck pain from desk work, shoulder restriction from poor sleep, lower-back tension from the daily commute — these get specific attention with a treatment plan, not a one-off massage. A focused 30-minute remedial session is $70; a full hour is $135, with a tax invoice provided for private health claims.

Three kilometres, five minutes by car

From the Essendon Library, Windy Hill or the Mt Alexander shopping strip, we're a 5-minute drive south down Mt Alexander Road. One stop on the train from Essendon station to Moonee Ponds, then a five-minute walk. The 59 tram also runs end-to-end. Whichever way works for your day.

Seven days a week, later on Thursdays and Fridays

Essendon has plenty of professionals working unusual hours — the airport corridor, the hospitals, the football club. We're open every day, until 7pm on Thursdays and Fridays, so treatment fits around shift work, kids' sport, and the rare actually-free weekend, rather than the other way around.

Essendon to Eddy Street

By car: south on Mt Alexander Road, 5 to 8 minutes depending on traffic. Coming from Essendon Fields or the Tullamarine Freeway interchange, take the Bulla Road exit and follow it down onto Mt Alexander Road — about 10 minutes. Free street parking is generally available on Eddy Street and the side streets off Hall Street and Margaret Street.

By train, hop on the Craigieburn line at Essendon station and ride one stop south to Moonee Ponds. From the platform it's a flat five-minute walk to Shop 2/8 Eddy Street, around the corner from the Puckle Street precinct. The 59 tram runs the length of Mt Alexander Road if you'd rather travel on the surface.

To book, call (03) 9317 5656 or use online booking — same-day slots are often available if you call before lunch.

Common questions from Essendon clients

How long does it actually take to get from Essendon to your clinic?

Driving down Mt Alexander Road from around Essendon station is roughly 5 to 8 minutes outside peak. From Essendon Fields or the freeway interchange, allow 10. By train, it's one stop from Essendon to Moonee Ponds — under two minutes on the train, plus a five-minute walk to Eddy Street. Door-to-door by public transport is generally 15 to 20 minutes.

I support Essendon and play a bit of weekend footy myself — what do you recommend for recovery?

For weekend players we usually suggest a 60-minute remedial focused on legs, glutes and lower back, with acupressure release on tight calves and hip flexors. If you've taken a knock or have referred pain into the hamstring or sciatic, mention it on booking — we have specific protocols for sciatic-style pain. Most weekend players find a fortnightly maintenance session keeps them moving through a season.

I work in the medical precinct nearby and finish late — what evening slots do you have?

We're open until 7pm on Thursdays and Fridays and 6pm most other days, with the last appointment about half an hour before close. If you're coming from a late shift at one of the hospitals or aged-care facilities around Essendon and Moonee Ponds, ring us a few days ahead and we'll find a slot that works. Sunday afternoons are also a quieter option if shift patterns are unpredictable.

Do you treat chronic neck pain or just general relaxation?

Chronic neck pain is one of the most common reasons Essendon clients book in. The typical approach is a focused acupressure session on the neck, shoulders and head combined with remedial work on the upper traps and levator scapulae. Cupping along the shoulder line can also help when tension is stubborn. We'll usually suggest two to three sessions a couple of weeks apart, then maintenance once it settles.
